After having been on a personal development journey since my late twenties, in 2016 I had a dream to be a coach one day. I had no idea how I'd make it happen, but as I believe it always does, the universe conspired to make it happen.
5 years after I put that dream out into the universe, I trained to be a certified coach. I'd been in business a couple of years and had started mentoring VAs who wanted more from their life and business. I realised this was the work I really loved doing. Guiding, supporting and empowering individuals to change their life - there's nothing more fulfilling and satisfying than that!
You won't hear me talking about becoming a '6 figure entrepreneur' or anything else that focuses on money being the sole measure of success. The main reason for that is simple - it's not the problem my clients have when they come to me. It's never about the money for them in the first instance but of course once their business is working as they'd like it to, the money comes.
I believe that as business owners, multiple income streams are important to provide us with financial security and stability. Alongside my coaching and membership, I continue to work with a small number of clients providing marketing & strategy support, plus I take on a couple of projects a year for large corporate organisations. I also help my clients to build multiple income streams in their own businesses.
I have a son who is 6, and he's one of the reasons I do what I do. I love that I'm always able to pick him up from school, go on the many school trips that come up throughout the school year and go to the school events. I also believe in nurturing the entrepreneurs of the future and he's already got ideas for his own business which I'm delighted about!
I'm a keen gardener and can be found at my allotment most weekends where I grow fruit, veg and lots of flowers. A dream for much further down the line is to be a flower farmer but that one's on hold for the next 10 or so years!
I live in a small village just outside Colchester in Essex.
I graduated with a fashion degree in 2004 (how is that 20 years ago?!) then went on to work in Buying for almost ten years. I worked on many UK and European brands designing and sourcing jewellery for High Street stores. I spent time living and working in China, Hong Kong and Korea and I firmly believe this experience taught me so much about running a business, margins, negotiating and I was able to be creative every single day.
I transitioned into a corporate role in 2014 and was lucky enough to work as an Executive Assistant for an incredibly inspiring leader at one of the top 3 global HR providers. There, I learnt what it takes to run a big business. I got involved in marketing, running events, and it was whilst I was there that I started to think about running my own business one day - even though back then I had no idea what it would be.
I catapulted myself into the world of self employment on 1st September 2018, after leaving my city job whilst on maternity leave. Initially I worked as a Virtual Assistant with female coaches. During the pandemic I started mentoring VAs and in 2021 I trained to be a coach, and now work with female business owners in all kinds of industries - from PR and marketing to copywriters, graphic designers, interior designers, yoga teachers, doulas and photographers.
